Fresno Folklore Society

   Promoting the Excellence and Diversity

   of Folk Music!

Hello Friends of Folklore! This website is a resource. We hope that you take a little time and learn about what we offer!
On a monthly basis, we publish our Society Calendar & outstanding Newsletter.
On our Events Page, we have the coming event posters listed with the next event on top. Scroll down to see future events. We also have archived previous concert posters.
Our local and guest musicians have Profile Pages accessed from our Artists Page, where you can learn more, listen to their music, and get helpful links.

We also have Audio and Video offerings, and very much welcome ideas for artists and songs you would like to see posted, or invited to Fresno to perform!

Fresno Folklore Society welcomes young musicians and concert goers. We offer scholarships for students participating in traditional music instruction and performance events. For more information, and the form to apply, see our Sue Beevers Memorial Scholarships Page.

Students should also consider volunteering for Society Events. If interested, please drop us a note at info@fresnofolklore.org. Youth are the future of Fresno Folklore Society, and we encourage those who enjoy traditional and old timey music to get involved and help us shape the future, while preserving and promoting these wonderful music forms for generations to come!

Finally, we also offer our Online Store where you can safely purchase memberships, donate to FFS, purchase Tickets to Society Events. and occasionally purchase other items.
~~~~~~~
All our Online Store transactions are securely processed through PayPal, which also accepts debit and credit cards in addition to existing PayPal account balances.
Please direct all corresponce through our general email account:  info@fresnofolklore.org
For the Love of Traditional Arts and Dance!
   But then I met these people that would get me playing music again. People like Big John and Lorraine Halcomb, Pete Everwine, Frank Hicks, Ron Hughey, and Will Spires. And they liked that old-time stuff."  Kenny Hall
   “We wanted a lot more cultural events than just music. All around life, you know, all the way through. Since people stayed longer, we wanted other things happening because some of them weren’t musicians. I tried to include as many kinds of art as we could.” — Virgil Byxbe, Sweet’s Mill Director
Something for everyone...
Fresno Folklore Society is a resource for everyone who either makes folk art or loves to experience it!
